LOCATION AND GENERAL FEATURES
The reserve is located on the eastern hills of Bogota D.C., these being part of the orographic system and the National Ecological District. Because of its strategic location, facilitate regional connection to the national parks of Chingaza and Sumapaz. In its approximately 14,000 hectares, limited to the north by Torca and south by the Boqueron Chipaque, born various surface water sources and there is an altitudinal gradient (between 2,575 m and 3,575 m) which favors the diversity of environments, and therefore of ecosystems. BIOTIC ASPECTSThe study of plant cover of the Cerros Orientales indicates that twenty-nine (29) types of vegetation. Hedges with native species (forests, stubble, scrub, riparian vegetation wasteland and laces) occupy 63.16% of the total area. This coverage, 64.28% is in good condition, while the remaining 35.72%

FAUNAhummingbird species like hummingbird orejivioleta corruscans, the colicintillos spp Lesbia, the bee Acestrura Mulsant, the colicobrizo Metallura thyruanthina, or chickadees Diglossa carbonaria, D. cyanea, flycatchers as Mecocerculus leucophrys, the toche yellow-backed oriole, among others. However, in densely urbanized areas the number of species is smaller, and dominated the most common species like hummingbird Colibri corruscans, black mirla great thrush, black swallow Notiochelidon murine and torcacita Eared dove.
